Former Congress president Rahul Gandhi on Tuesday reiterated the demand for repeal of three central agriculture laws, alleging that more than 60 farmers lost their lives during the peasant movement due to indifference and arrogance of the central government.
“The apathy and arrogance of the Modi government has killed more than 60 farmers,” he tweeted. Instead of wiping away the tears of the peasants, this government is throwing shells at them. The Congress leader alleged that such cruelty was intended to promote the interests of capitalists.
Rahul Gandhi said all three laws should be abolished. What’s special is that thousands of farmers have been demonstrating near Delhi over their demands for the past one and a half months. Farmer organizations insist that these three agricultural laws should be revoked and the law guaranteed at a minimum support price (MSP).
The apathy and arrogance of the Modi government has claimed the lives of more than 60 farmers.
Instead of wiping away their tears, GOI has been busy attacking them using sarcasm. Such brutality, only to promote the business interests of crony capitalists.

These laws are a step towards a major reform of the agriculture sector and by these measures will eliminate the role of agricultural intermediaries and enable the farmers to sell their produce anywhere in the country. Despite several rounds of talks between farmers’ organizations and the government, the chaos has not been completely eliminated.
