No booth will be set up within 100 meters of the heads of the House in the 2021 Panchayat General Election in Bihar. No booths shall be erected in any person’s private building or premises, and booths shall not be erected in any police station, hospital, ensign, temple or place of religious importance. The state election commission has instructed all districts to set up booths for the panchayat general elections.
Commission Secretary Yogendra Ram directed the District Magistrate and District Election Officer to start the process of creating booths for all districts panchayats. In the panchayat general elections in 2016, 1 lakh 19 thousand booths were created in the state.
According to the Commission, by reviewing the booths created earlier, districts that need voting relocation need to notify the Commission of the full reasons and only after the Commission’s approval, booths can be installed in the new location.
The Commission has set a schedule for the publication of booths and other procedures. The final publication of the list of all polling stations will be done by 20 March 2021. The panchayat general elections in the state are likely to take place between March-May 2021.
