The Food Safety and Safety Authority of India (FSSAI) today issued guidelines for bird fever and said there is no risk of infection in eating meat and eggs with certain precautions. The guidelines stated that poultry products should not be brought and sold from areas where bird flu is spread. Also, consumers should not buy such chicken products. In addition, people dealing with poultry and raw meat should take special care of swachtel by wearing gloves on their hands. Consumers are advised to be careful when washing and cooking meat after purchase. The meat should not be washed under the tap of running water. Gloves should be applied by hand at this time.
The bird flu virus dies automatically when cooked, so there is no risk of infection with cooked meat, according to the FSSAI. Do not put meat or eggs in the same container as they were before cooking.
