A Delhi court today acquitted former Union Minister MJ Akbar in a criminal defamation case against journalist Priya Ramani. Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Ravindra Kumar Pandey dismissed the complaint filed by Akbar saying no allegations against Ramani had been proved. Bollywood celebrities are pleased with the court’s decision. Richa Chadha, Taapsee Pannu and other stars have made their comments on social media.

After being acquitted by a Delhi court, journalist Priya Ramani said she was delighted. “I wish all women who spoke out against sexual harassment a victory,” he said.
It is worth noting that in 2018 Priya Ramani had committed sexual misconduct under the MJA Akbar Movement. Akbar had filed a complaint on October 15, 2018 on charges of defamation against Ramani. Meanwhile, Akbar resigned as Union Minister on 17 October 2018.
