Rajasthan Royals set a target of 148 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in 19.4 overs. In the last two overs of Rajasthan, Chris Morris batted by storm and gave the team victory. He played an unbeaten innings of 36 off 18 balls. Morris hit sixes and gave Rajasthan their first victory of the season.
David Miller scored 62 for Rajasthan. Rajasthan lost 5 wickets for 42 runs in the 10th over. Miller then tackled Rajasthan’s innings. He completed his fifty in 40 balls. Kagiso Rabada took two wickets for Delhi Capitals. Chris Vox 2 and Avesh Khan took three wickets each. Earlier, thanks to a bowling performance by Jaydev Unadkat, the Rajasthan Royals held Delhi capitals at 147 for eight. Unadkat took three wickets for 15 runs in four overs. In the next over, Mustafizur gave Delhi a fourth blow by sending Marcus Stonis to the pavilion without opening an account.
Rishabh Pant and debutant Lalit Yadav then took over the innings. Yadav opened the account with two boundaries on Chris Morris, the most expensive player in the IPL auction. Pant welcomed Rahul Tiwatia with four boundaries. He scored 20 in this over. Mustafizur finished with four runs off 30 balls. However, he was run out by an accurate delivery from the bowler in an attempt to steal a quick run in his next over. He hit nine boundaries in his 32-ball innings. In the 15th over, 100 runs came for Delhi. But in the same over, Chris Morris gave a good catch to Tiwatiya Yadav (20), running back from the center. Tom Curren 21 and Chris Vox (15 not out) scored some impressive shots in the final over to take the team to 147.
