He holds the record for the first Test in a two-Test series against New Zealand. The first Test match between England and New Zealand is being played at Lord’s in London.

James Anderson played his 161st Test for England today. If he plays in the second Test against New Zealand, then he will be playing more Test matches for England. Speaking of Anderson, he has taken 614 wickets in Test matches so far. As a fast bowler, he is the highest wicket taker in the world. The 38-year-old Anderson is just 8 wickets away from getting 1000 wickets in his first class career.

Sachin Tendulkar is number one in terms of playing more Test matches. He has played 200 Tests for India. Australian skipper Ricky Ponting and Steve Waugh are second with 168 Tests. New Zealand won the toss and elected to bat before the first Test match between the two teams on Wednesday.
