Former India pacer R Vinay Kumar has been named as the Pratibha Scout of Mumbai Indians on Thursday. Mumbai Indians owner Akash Ambani said in a statement, “I am delighted that Vinay has joined our Talent Scout program. Mumbai Indians talent hunting and nurturing youth is based on strong sources of faith.
Vinay said, “I am honored to have this opportunity to rejoin the Mumbai Indians. The Mumbai Indians strive to excel in every aspect of the game and the hunting of talent is undoubtedly their biggest strength.

Earlier in December 2020, India’s former wicketkeeper-batsman Parthiv Patel also joined the Mumbai Indians as a talent scout. India’s former middle-aged paceman was part of the Mumbai Indians’ victory campaign in the 2015 and 2017 IPL Mumbai TUI. Vinay debuted in the IPL in 2008 and his IPL campaign ended with 105 wickets.
Vinay, who led Karnataka to two Ranji Trophy titles, has consistently performed well on the domestic circuit and ended Ranji’s campaign with 442 wickets. He has played 41 international matches for India. Vinay announced his retirement from first-class and international cricket in February this year.
