A conversation between Virat Kohli and BCCI officials over the T20 World Cup

Two months pending for the T20 World Cup. India is considered one of the strongest contenders for the T20 World Cup. The entire focus of the Indian team right now is on winning the Test series in England, but skipper Virat Kohli and top officials of the Indian Cricket Board (BCCI) are discussing the upcoming T20 World Cup.

The victory in the second Test at Lord’s took a lot of pressure off Kohli but he knows his future as a captain depends heavily on the team’s performance at the T20 World Cup in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). The team should start its campaign against the traditional opponent Pakistan. BCCI President Sourav Ganguly, Secretary Jai Shah and Vice President Rajeev Shukla held a formal meeting with the captain during the Second Test, in which various aspects of the T20 World Cup were discussed.

IPL 2021: MS Dhoni’s new ad startled, new look goes viral

A senior BCCI official told PTI on condition of anonymity, “Yes, BCCI officials met Kohli but it is not appropriate to give details of the conversation between them.” But there is very little time left in the T20 World Cup and India need not play any match (limited overs) before the IPL (Indian Premier League), so this debate is mostly concerned with making this competition a blueprint. ‘

India will play the Test series until September 14, after which players will be working on their franchise teams in the IPL. In such a situation, it is not surprising that the authorities spoke to Kohli.
