A trailer for Prakash Ha’s MX Player series, Ashram Chapter 2: The Dark Side, has been released. The set of episodes picks up after the first ‘season tuna’ that ended abruptly in August.
Bobby Deol plays Baba Nirala, who is being pursued by the police for suspected crimes. The first season ended in a cliffhanger, with evidence of Baba being tied to a heinous crime.
In the new trailer, we see Baba’s influence expanding. He has followers in more than 50 constituencies and has made him a powerful political figure. We also see how he keeps his ‘devotions’ under his thumb – they are hooked on drugs.
We see his developing relationship with the character of Aditi Pohankar, whose blind faith is tested after Baba is drunk and abused.
Indian News Live, Chapter 1 review, “In Ashram MX Player, Bobby Deol’s pronunciation is inconsistent. While the actor is struggling to reject his urban aura, the series – about one of the Dhongi Babas you read in the news – never lives up to the potential of its premise. It’s not as obvious as it should be, but that doesn’t stop it from being completely ridiculous. ”
Ashram Chapter 2: The Dark Side, starring Chandan Roy Sanyal, Darshan Kumar, Anupriya Goenka and others, will be released on November 11.

Bobby debuted his streaming with Netflix cop drama Class 83 and followed it up with Ashram next week. On Thursday, he announced a new project: Shankar Raman’s directed Love Hostel and co-starring Sanya Malhotra and Vikrant Massey.
