Asia Cup, scheduled to be held in Sri Lanka in June, has been postponed to 2023. The date will be announced later. The Asian Cricket Council (ACC) on Sunday made the announcement.
The tournament, which was earlier scheduled to be held in Pakistan in 2020, was shifted to Sri Lanka in 2021 due to Covid. The tournament was scheduled to take place in June.
The ACC Executive Board after careful evaluation has made the decision to postpone the 2021 edition of the Asia Cup to 2023.

However, Sri Lanka Cricket CEO Ashley De Silva said it would be difficult to hold the tournament in June as the number of Covid cases in Sri Lanka has increased. The tournament has now been postponed to 2023 as the four major Asian teams that are part of the tournament have several cricket matches.
