Bangalore: Manipal MIT student arrested by UPD and Manipal police for joint operation
Preliminary investigation revealed that the arrested student was selling MDMA pills via the Dark Web.
Accordingly, the investigation into the case is being investigated by authorities on how to contact drug dealers who were selling drugs.
Due to coronavirus, Manipal’s various educational institutes are located on campus. Students from outside the state are also investigating whether he was a local customer.
Meanwhile, the Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAH) has organized several awareness programs to keep students from getting into the drug trade network.
The Manipal Educational Center has a total of 22,000 students. An amount of Rs. 498 MDMA tablets worth Rs 14.9 lakh were seized by the police and are being investigated in all dimensions.
Dr. Vinod Nayak, Head of the Mahe Drug Center, said, “There are a lot of programs being conducted to create awareness among students about drug use. However, the current line is unable to run due to the coronavirus. There are currently only 800 students who have come for the PG examination. Awareness programs will be resumed upon the students’ return to campus. He said there were plans to conduct an online awareness program.
