Barack Obama Reveals He Once Coached Daughter Sasha & Her Basketball Team, But Had To Quit After Parents Complained

Former President of the United States of America, Barack Obama knows a lot about basketball. Obama loves the sport and coached his daughter Sasha Obama and his basketball team for a short time. However, they were forced to quit after other parents of competing teams complained. Obama recalled this story and many others in his new memoir, A Promised Land.

The Sunday Times has released a new excerpt about training from autobiography. It notes that while in office, Obama coached a fourth-grade team that his younger daughter Sasha played. The former president only attended his games when he was at Sidwell Friends School in Washington, and after watching a couple of games, he and his personal assistant, Reggie Love, decided to train fourth-grade basketball players.

However, parents of opposing teams objected to this and complained that they were not offering training sessions to their children. Obama wrote, “We have explained that there is nothing special about our practices. It is an excuse for me to spend extra time with Sasha. And we are on hand to help other parents organize their own practices.”
