BCB Bangladesh head coach Russell Domingo’s contract could be extended until the 2022 World Cup

Russell Domingo’s contract as head coach of Bangladesh could be extended to the 2022 T20 World Cup in Australia. According to Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) president Najmul Hasan, there is still debate on the matter. They have expressed their full potential, but it has just been confirmed.

“We have not taken any final decision in this regard,” he said in a statement. His tenure is up until the upcoming T20 World Cup and there is no problem with that. It is possible to extend his contract, but we have not talked to him about it. We are discussing it, and then we make the decision. It is worth noting that BCB signed a two-year deal with Domingo in August 2019 and then decided to extend it to the T20 World Cup in the UAE and Oman from October 2021.

It is understood that top executives at BCB are not satisfied with Domingo’s performance, they have also appointed supervisors to oversee their actions. Sports Development President Khalid Mahmood joined the team in the Home and Away series against Sri Lanka. BCB Media Committee President Jalal Younus also accompanied the team to the tour of New Zealand, while BCB Director Ahmed Sajjadul Alam was on the tour in Zimbabwe.
