India Cricket Board (BCCI) Sourav Ganguly on Sunday confirmed that the IPL 2021 schedule will not change and everything will be on schedule. IPL 2021 starts from 9th April. He confirmed this after the Maharashtra government partially ordered the lock-down to reduce the increasing impact of coronavirus. State Cabinet Minister Nawab Malik said the decision was taken in the wake of the increasing number of Kovid 19 cases.
Sourav Ganguly told ANI that everything will be on schedule. Following a Cabinet meeting on Sunday afternoon, the Maharashtra government announced a lockdown over the weekend. On weekends, there will be a strict lockdown in Maharashtra from 8 am to 7 pm Monday to Friday, with a night curfew from 8 am to 7 pm Monday to Friday. Mumbai will host 10 matches in the IPL. Some of these matches are also on the weekend. The match between Chennai Super Kings and Delhi Capitals takes place in Mumbai on April 10 (Saturday).

Four IPL franchises – Delhi Capital, Mumbai Indians, Punjab Kings, and Rajasthan Royals – have established bases in Mumbai. Currently, Kolkata Knight Riders also have the same base. KKR will soon travel to Chennai on April 11 for a match against Nargishers Hyderabad. BCCI vice president Rajiv Shukla said the BCCI will contact the Ministry of Health to apply the Kovid 19 vaccine to players. The IPL matches will be held in Mumbai from April 10-24. Six IPL teams will face Chennai Super Kings, Delhi Capital, Punjab Kings, Royals Challengers Bangalore, Rajasthan Royals and Kolkata Knight Riders at Wankhede Stadium.
