Significantly, earlier this month, a former India captain had chest pain while exercising at home. His arteries were found to be blocked. After this, Ganguly underwent angioplasty. A nine-member medical team was formed to treat them and the stent was inserted into the coronary artery after consultation with experts such as Devi Shetty, RK Panda, Samuel Mathew, Ashwin Mehta and Shamin K Sharma in New York.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Vice President Venkaiah Naidu and Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee went to the hospital to inquire about their health, while Union Finance Minister and former BCCI president Anurag Thakur took his health. Naidu and Modi had a phone conversation with Ganguly’s family and inquired about his health.
