The Mumbai court has sent the comedian Bharti Singh and her husband Harsh Limbachia to judicial custody till December 4 in a drug case. The comedian and her husband were questioned by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) on Saturday and Bharti Singh has been arrested. At the same time, the investigative agency arrested Harsh Limbachia on Sunday. The jute has been seized by NCB officials from both houses.
After the arrest of Bharti and Harsh, the NCB produced the two in a court in Mumbai. After trial, the court sent both men to judicial custody. Earlier, the investigating agency provided medical care to both. An official of the investigating agency had earlier said that the NCB had searched Bharti Singh’s home and office on Saturday to investigate a drug case in the Bollywood world and recovered 86.5 grams of marijuana from his home.

The NCB had previously said that Bharti Singh and her husband Harsh Limbachia had admitted to consuming marijuana. A case has been registered against the accused under the provisions of the Drugs Act, he said. A bureau official said that the amount seized from Singh’s house was a minor one by law. One thousand grams of marijuana is considered a minor and can be sentenced to six months in prison or a fine of up to Rs 10,000. A commercial sentence (20kg or more) can be punishable by up to 20 years in prison. The amount in between could be up to 10 years in prison.
