Kannada superstar Sudeep Bigg Boss reflected on his journey as Kannada anchor at a media event in Bangalore on Thursday. He has been the face of the popular reality TV show since its launch in 2013. As the eighth season began, he recalled a time when he had doubts about the success of the show.
Sudeep said: “I had a lot of doubts in the first half. I was worried about how people would accept the show. No one wants to get involved with it. ”
ETV Kannada Big Boss has hosted Kannada season. However, the second season of 2014 was featured in the Asianet Golden, before the show returned to its original channel ETV Kannada, which was re-branded as the Colors Kannada.
“I still remember, Parameshwar Gundkal of Colors met me at a hotel in Koramangala. And I knew they were going to talk about the show. I think we finished that meeting in less than five minutes. And we have entered into a five-year contract. That’s when I thought the show would go on for the next five years. If people didn’t like it, the show wouldn’t have come so far, ”Sudeep said.
Statistically, when Sudeep was told that the number 8 represents equilibrium, he quickly responded, “I have always maintained my balance from the first to the next. If I lose my balance on the stage, it causes confusion. ”
Sudeep knows that he cannot afford to be as outrageous as competitors on camera. “Your awareness of all the cameras around you automatically controls your anger. My response (when he is angry), is always there, I come back, take a short break. It’s not like I’m angry. But, I try to think for 10 seconds, why did he or she talk like that? What is the situation? And I think I have the answer, ”he said.
He was also advised of the art of getting angry. “Look, you should never be angry when people provoke you to anger. This is a waste (of energy) because that’s what they need. ”
Sudeep also noticed that he was the only window to the outside world competing. And he can empathize with them when he speaks harshly with them. “I am their only vent. So when they talk to me, they open up with no restrictions because they only have me. They are likely to make one or two mistakes in the heat of the moment. (After that), ”Sudeep said in a balanced response.
He also recalled the only time he lost his cool when he was attacked by Venkat singer Ravi Mooru during Season 3. “It was because it happened in front of me while I was on stage. It’s not okay. ”
After the sixth, Sudeep revealed that he felt he had enough and wanted to quit the show. “I told Parameswara to start looking for my replacement,” he noted.
Asked what about the sixth pick who picked him, he said, “Watch that season from beginning to end, and you don’t want to ask me this question. I’m not saying that all six contestants are bad or I don’t look down on them. One element is enough to ruin this environment. In that particular case, there were some good competitors but I think some of them were unfortunate choices. Perhaps, he performed well in some other inks. But it stressed me out, ”he recalled.
Sudeep said he was happy that Parameshwar Gundkal was persuaded to return for Season 7. “I think season 7 is her favorite. Because he cooked and sent food to the staff three times in Tau. And every week they send out a lot of goodies to competitors, ”said Parameswara, director of Cluster Business Head of Colors Kannada and Bigg Boss Kannada.
Bigg Boss Kannada Season 8 will be launched at the grand opening on Sunday.
