Bihar election 2020 will witness emergence of new leadership during lack of Lalu and Ram Vilas and also litmus test of rising heroes like Chirag Paswan Tejashwi Yadav and Mukesh Sahni

This time Bihar election will also witness the emergence of new leadership in the politics of the state. There will also be a litmus test of these rising heroes. At the same time, there will be a shortage of Lalu Prasad and Ram Vilas Paswan, who have been in the politics of the state and the country for four decades. Lalu Prasad may be leading his party from the background, but this time he will not have any direct role in the election, while Paswan is hospitalized. They set an example by traveling from a remote village and weak economic background to the peak of power. However Lalu Prasad was caught by money laundering in such a way that he went behind bars.

Three young leaders are leading their respective parties in this election. The 30-year-old Tejaswi Mahagathbandhan is the face of 37-year-old Chirag LJP. These two have inherited politics. VIP Chairman Mukesh Sahni, 39, was a businessman in Mumbai. He formed his own party and has contested the Bihar Legislative Assembly for the first time. Sahni has also registered a huge success by securing 11 seats from BJP quota in NDA. He fought the Lok Sabha elections under the banner of the Grand Alliance.

The social backgrounds of these three new heroes also connect with the Mandalist political stream. Tejaswi backward, Chirag Dalit and Mukesh belong to the backward category. There is a similarity among these three that neither they started the journey of politics from the village nor lived in financial crisis. Ram Vilas Paswan and Lalu Prasad came from very simple family backgrounds and reached the heights of politics. Ideological commitment and social desire for change made their way easier. But the path of Tejashwi and Chirag who succeeded him is not easy, despite the resourcefulness and strong political structure. Tejashwi has registered a huge success to become the CM candidate of the Grand Alliance, but he will have to prove his ability to keep all the allies in confidence, only then his own image can be established. Even in the Lok Sabha elections, Tejashwi had the privilege of becoming the leader of Bihar in the Grand Alliance, but at that time he had failed on all fronts to demonstrate solidarity by keeping all the parties together.

Chirag has also got his father’s strong political ground. He has shown the courage to go to the polls alone. Even Ram Vilas Paswan could not show this courage. But they have to prove how correct the decision taken was. Even though LJP is not a part of NDA in Bihar elections, Chirag is following the strategy of taking indirect advantage of BJP. He is not only using PM Narendra Modi’s face in campaigning but also in the arena by putting BJP’s face in the message that he is close to BJP. He is also repeatedly saying that BJP and LJP will form the government after the elections, but BJP has said that Nitish Kumar is the leader of NDA in Bihar and those who do not consider him a leader are not part of NDA. In such a situation, it is difficult to say how successful the board of illusions will be. However, these elections will also have the three protagonists under fire.
