Cricket is a sport in which many players have gained wealth and fame at any given time. But some cricketers still have financial difficulties even after being associated with it. Spinner Javier Doherty, who played for Australia and was a member of the World Cup winning team, is one such name, who will be forced to work as a carpenter after his retirement. Doherty announced his retirement in 2017. After his retirement he worked in landscaping, office work, cricket work and many more. This left-hander started his career in 2001-02. His career spanned almost 17 years. Doherty had the opportunity to play in the 2015 World Cup in Australia. He had scored 60 in seven overs and could not take a single wicket.
Doherty said, ‘When I retired from cricket, I didn’t know what I was going to do. I did the job I got in the initial 12 months.
