BangaloreWB Reorganization has been constituted by a committee headed by BBMP Commissioner N. Manjunatha Prasad to increase the number of BBMP wards from 198 to 243.
The governor has recently agreed to the Karnataka Urban Policies (3rd Amendment) Act to increase the number of wards and restructuring. Against this backdrop, the committee has been constituted on the instructions of the government and is also a member of the Bangalore city collector, BDA commissioner and special commissioner (Kanda) of the BBMP.
A committee has been formed to redesign the current policy ward. The Border Decision Commission is likely to be formed next week. When the ward number increases, the wards of the assembly constituency are re-divided into the same constituency. The wards of one assembly constituency cannot, for any reason, be included in the scope of another assembly constituency. The government has given clear direction on this.
