DAV United Festival 2021: Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla said social change is possible only through education. Recalling the contribution of Maharishi Dayanand Saraswati in his speech at the third Dayanand Anglo Vedic (DAV) united event here on Friday, Mr Birla said Dayanand G was a personification of nationalist ideology and social progress. He said, “Maharishi Dayanand was instrumental in giving leadership and direction to the 1857 freedom struggle. He inspired and encouraged many patriots like Swami Shraddhanand, Veer Savarkar, Ram Prasad Bismil, Lala Lajpat Rai and Bhagat Singh. Dayanand Ji’s thoughts continue to inspire and encourage us today. ”
Mr Birla said the DAV is playing an important role in educating even the most remote areas of the country and making a big contribution to the nation’s progress while trying to bring backward people to the mainstream.
State Finance Minister Anurag Thakur thanked the DAV institutions for their contribution in the field of education and development. Thakur, Minister of State for Finance, said that Kovid-19 has emerged as a major challenge in the global epidemic in achieving education and classrooms and the government has taken several initiatives to improve it.
He appealed to the locals to share with one another, so students can donate their books, tablets, sports equipment etc. to help others.
Mr Thakur appealed to the DAV Foundation to cooperate with the campaign. Speaking at the event, Sports and Youth Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju said in his address that India’s international image has improved significantly around the world and that our country has become a more confident country. He lauded the confidence of India’s youth who have played a key role in the global epidemic.
Mr Rijiju said that if we look at the enthusiasm of the country’s youth, the youth will be confident that they will build a self-sufficient India through their commitment, innovation, knowledge and energy.
He said the government’s aim was to empower India in sports and reach the top 10 countries at the 2028 Summer Olympic Games. The event is hosted by the DAV United Foundation.
