Davangere Line: Three policemen have been suspended from service, including the PSI of the Mayakonda police station, in the wake of the alleged death of the accused.
PSI Prakash, Head Constable Nagaraj and Police Constable Sher Ali have been suspended from service, SP Hanumantharaiah told media.
A phone call was made to the Mayakonda police station last Monday. His wife Vrindamma made a phone call to Vilasipurappa’s village.
Accordingly, when the police were actively searched, they were re-discovered in the village of Manchavanahalli. His family was asked to come to the police station and solve the problem. Since it was night, Vrindamma and his family said they would come the next day.
The body was found the next morning at a bus stop near Railway Gate, 100 meters away from the rehabilitated police station. The locals have protested and have died in custody again, demanding action against the concerned.
