Delhi NCR to be world s largest national capital region in 2027

Union Housing and Urban Development Minister Hardeep Singh Puri has said that Delhi-NCR will become the world’s largest national capital region in the year 2027, in view of the rapidly expanding development of the National Capital Region. In view of this, along with facilitating the traffic system in this entire area, other development works are being worked on rapidly. 366 different projects have been approved in the National Capital Region, of which 269 have been completed.

Addressing the 39th meeting of the National Capital Region Planning Board (NCRPB), Puri said that in 1989 the National Capital Region was spread over 30242 sq km which has increased to 55083 sq km in 2005. It has an area of ​​1483 sq km of Delhi. The National Capital Region had a population of 5.81 crores in 2011. Puri said that in 2030, Delhi-NCR will be the world’s most populous capital. In view of this, the regional plan for 2041 is being prepared.

The Union Minister said that the NCRPB has approved 366 projects, of which 269 have been completed, while work on 97 is in progress. Their total cost is Rs 31853 crore. Out of this, an amount of Rs.15393 crore has been approved and Rs.12441 crore has been released. Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar, Urban Development Minister of Delhi, Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan and Housing and Urban Development Secretary Durgashankar Mishra were present in today’s meeting.
