Delhi: Six held for betting on Delhi Capitals vs Royal Challengers Bangalore IPL match

Delhi Police arrested 6 people who were betting online in Indian Premier League (IPL) matches to people of several states while sitting in Delhi on Monday night at 9.40 pm.

A team of special staff of Southern district has recovered a laptop, 9 mobiles and Rs 1 lakh 20 thousand cash from the accused Gaurav, Hemant Dalal, Sahil Luthra, Sanjay Rathi, Mohit Dagar and Sonu Rathi.

The accused were nabbed from the office of a property dealer in Rajpur Khurd village. Where the accused were betting online on the match played between Delhi Capitals vs Royal Challengers Bangalore. At present, the police have registered all the cases under relevant sections and sent all the accused to jail.

DCP Atul Kumar Thakur said that on the basis of secret information, a house in Rajpur Khurd village was raided on Monday night. He said that the police reached the spot found six people, who were betting through laptops. Police said during the raids, Rs 1,19,700 cash and nine mobile phones as well as a laptop were seized.

The DCP said that a case in the betting related sections has been registered at the Maidan Garhi police station. He said that further investigation was going on.
