Euro Cup 2020: Lewandowski’s goal saved Spain in a 1-1 draw

Thanks to a goal by Robert Lewandowski, after the Polish side were defeated 1–1 in the group match of the European Football Championships. FIFA’s Player of the Year Lewandowski retained Poland’s hopes of making the next round of Euro 2020 alive with a 54th minute goal in the second half. Spain took the lead on Alvaro Morata’s goal in the 25th minute, but the team missed several scoring opportunities, putting the team at risk of exiting the tournament.

If Poland lost the match, it would have lost the hope of making 16 rounds in Euro 2020. Spain lost several scoring chances, including the attempt of Gerard Morena, who failed to convert a penalty after Lewardowski’s goal. Alvaro Morata also failed to put the ball into the empty goal after hitting the goal post.

Spain dominated the first match against Sweden, but the team failed to score as the game ended in a goalless draw. On the other hand, Poland lost their first game against Slovakia by 1-2. Following this result, Sweden lead Group E with four points after beating Slovakia on Friday. Slovakia is in second position with three points, while Spain is in third place with two points. Poland are in last place with a point, but there is a chance to advance to the next round.
