Farmers on the border of Delhi against agrarian laws are adamant to take the tractor parade on the Republic Day. However, farmers’ organizations have now claimed that they will take up the procession on the Uuter Tur road in Delhi and will not interfere with the official rally in Rajpath. Earlier, Rakesh Tikite, the leader of the Indian Kisan Union, had said that farmers would march from the Red Fort to India Gate.
Swaraj, who is involved in the peasant movement, told India’s Yogendra Yadav on Sunday, “The farmers will march on the R Turn Ring Road with the national flag and there will be no disruption in the official function of the Republic Day.” It was made clear that no political party flag would be added to the parade.
Darshan Paul, the head of the Revolutionary Farmers’ Union, condemned the summons from the NIA as repression by some people associated with the peasant movement. “The NIA has begun to file cases against those who are part of or support the farmer movement,” he said. All farmers’ unions condemn it. We fight it in every way possible. ”
Meanwhile, Rakesh Tikite, leader of the Indian Kisan Union (BKU), said on Sunday, “Farmers are ready to protest against the Center’s new agricultural laws by May 2024 and the peasant movement on the Delhi border is a ‘ideological revolution’.” Speaking at a press conference in Nagpur, Tikit said the minimum support price (MSP) should be guaranteed by law.
Farmers have been protesting at the Delhi border since November 26, 2020, against agrarian laws. He urges the repeal of three new laws, which the Center describes as a major improvement in agriculture. Farmers are worried that the new laws will lead MSP to end the security space and shut down the knee system. The Supreme Court on Tuesday blocked the implementation of the new agricultural laws until further orders.
