Five people arrested for cheating in the name of confirming train and bus tickets

The Delhi Police has arrested five members of the gang, busting a gang of cheating people on the pretext of getting tickets for buses and trains.

Police officials said that the Delhi Police has arrested five members of a gang who allegedly cheated people on the pretext of getting tickets for buses and trains.

He said that the accused have been identified as Sultanpuri resident Sanjay Yadav (40), Samaypur Badli resident Lal Babu Sahni (27), Badli resident Santosh Kumar (27) and Rakesh Mandal (26) and Rajiv Mandal (22) of Shakurpur .

Police said that a person named Sanjay Kumar had lodged a complaint with Mahendra Park police station on October 6 in which he alleged that some people had cheated him on the pretext of giving a confirmed ticket to the buses.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (North-West) Vijayanta Arya said that during the investigation, the police searched the CCTV footage and on Saturday captured all the five accused from near Haiderpur metro station.

During interrogation, the accused told the police that they befriended people by becoming passengers or ticket agents and then cheating them. Police said a laptop, Rs 13,500 cash, 42 mobile phones and other items have been recovered from these arrested accused.
