From now on, pure mustard oil is available, adulteration is prohibited

From now on, no other edible oil can be mixed with mustard oil. Now you also get pure mustard oil on the market. The ban on mixing mustard oil in the production and packaging of edible vegetable oil (MSEVO) made from various base oils has come into effect from today. The government issued a directive on Monday.

Accordingly, the approval or approval given to packers regarding the inclusion of mustard oil in MSEVO production has been revoked. Accordingly, mustard oil is now not mixed with other sources of edible oils. The Directorate of Marketing and Inspection, which comes under the purview of the Ministry of Agriculture and Co-operatives and Farmers ‘Welfare, Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare, has issued directives to new regional offices in the name of packing mixed edible vegetables. Delhi, ‘Multisource in vegetable oil production is said to have imposed a ban on food and the sale of mustard oil. This order will take effect from 8 June 2021 and 1 July 2021 respectively.

Attached to the Scientific Committee of the Food Safety and Quality Authority of India (FSSAI) Circular dated 8th March, 2021 and to the Scientific Committee of the FSSAI on December 29, 2020, it is stated in this notification that the so-called multi-source edible vegetable oils. Combined edible vegetable oils are defined as vegetable oils. According to the FSSAI notification, the Blended Edible Vegetable Oil (Bevo) grading and marketing rules will be amended in accordance with the FSSAI notification.
