When installing the idol of Ganesha, make sure the idol is facing east or west. Devotees can buy the idol of Lord Ganesha at any time and bring it home.
Before starting the Ganesh Puja, take the Sankalpa and perform the Deep-Prajavalan process. After installing the idol of Lord Ganesha, perform the Avahana (prayer of Lord Ganesha) and the Pratyakshapan (installing the Ganesha statue).
