Reliance Jio-Google’s affordable smartphone has been the subject of considerable debate these days. This phone can be launched in India around Diwali. According to the Economic Times, the Geo and Google partnership smartphone is currently under testing at WingTech Mobile, Dixon Technologies, UTL Neolinks and Flextronics Technologies manufacturing plants.
The price may be less than Rs
The phone has gone through a research and development phase and the company is looking to buy its components from Tata Electronics. According to reports, this phone from Geo-Google can be released for less than $ 50 (around Rs. 3600). The company may begin pre-ordering this phone in the coming months.
Google provides software, and other vendors connect
The phone is designed by Chinese manufacturer WingTech Geo-Google. An official at WingTech said Google’s job was to prepare the software for the phone and that the remaining vendors would work on the phone. The phone is expected to hit the market by the fourth quarter of this year with the launch of the phone.

At AGM there is the advantage of saying price and specification
According to Neil Shah, partner at Counterpoint Research, the festive season around Diwali proves that it is best to launch this smartphone from Geo-Google. Brokerage firm JPMorgan said if the company discloses the price and specifications of the phone at its annual general meeting (AGM 2021) on June 24, it would be very positive.
The target is 50 crore subscribers
The company’s affordable smartphone is very important to target India’s 300 million feature phone users, as Jio has already set a target of 500 million users. Jio currently has 426 million users, but the company is getting tough competition from Airtel.
The company could benefit from 42 million subscribers
According to brokerage firm UBS, Jio’s cheapest smartphone will benefit the company from 3 to 42 million subscribers in two to three years. The BS 50 smartphone may be a bit difficult to release, but UBS said it could reduce its price by about $ 7- 65-70 by compromising on components.
Keeping prices low can be challenging
According to UBS, Google and Geo Lite have been developing an operating system that requires special attention to display and phone memory to reduce costs. However, considering the 4G migration target, Jio could put the price of this smartphone at $ 50.
