Geo fiber users can now easily enjoy video calls from their smart TVs and the most important thing is that they don’t need any external camera or webcam. The company has released a new feature to facilitate this service. This new feature is named ‘Camera On Mobile’, which is available for Android and iOS devices.
This feature can be managed through the JioJoin App (formerly named JioCall). This allows users to use their phone’s camera as an input device for video calls. This enables video-calling via Geo FiberVoice to provide broadband users with a calling facility. In addition, customers can use the GeoJoin App on their mobiles to make voice calls using their landline numbers.
Let us tell you that the company has been testing the ‘Camera on Mobile’ feature for the past few months, although it has now been introduced for both Android and iOS users.
How to make a video call:
To start making video calls on your TV using your mobile device’s camera, you must first configure your 10-digit geo fiber number in the GeoJoin App. This allows you to connect your phone to your Geo Fiber connection as a companion device.
Once you have completed the configuration, you will need to enable the ‘Camera on Mobile’ feature from the JioJoin app settings. After this you can now use your phone as a webcam to make video calls through your TV. This process is very easy and convenient.
Geo Fiber users are advised to switch their modem to 5GHz Wi-Fi band for better video calls. However, you can take advantage of this feature even in the 2.4GHz band. Users can download the JioJoin App through Google Play and the App Store. It requires at least Android 6.0 or iOS 10.0 compatible devices to work.
