How can Shikhar Dhawan get a place in Team XI XI in T20 World Cup?

Shikhar Dhawan has been selected as India’s captain for the limited-overs series against Sri Lanka starting July 18. This tour is considered very important before the T20 World Cup. Shikhar Dhawan will try to shine with the bat on this tour and assert his right to Team India’s XI at the T20 World Cup. Former India fast bowler Ajit Agarkar believes Dhawan’s chances of joining Dhawan in the upcoming T20 World Cup are slim.

Ajit Agarkar said, “Dhawan has always been an Alto car in high-speed racing cars (T20s) and durable vehicles (test). He catered to the needs of the Indian team in his own style. Because of this, he became an essential part of the XI. But at T20 they couldn’t do it. The problem started when KL Rahul started to run through more than 140 strikes in T20 internationals. Dhawan’s strike rate was less than 127 against England and Australia.

At the Virtual Conference hosted by Sony Sports, Sri Lanka’s official broadcaster against India, Agarkar told the Hindustan Times, “Shikhar played the first T20 against England and then came out for the next four matches. He made a comeback and his IPL was phenomenal. Prior to postponing 2021, he scored 380 runs for the Delhi Capitals in 8 matches with a strike rate of 135.

Chris Gayle’s interview was viral, saying – I’m a ‘boss’ of cricket, not an ICC

Agarkar believes Dhawan’s chances of playing in the T20 World Cup are thin. Dhawan is capable of putting pressure on KL Rahul by scoring maximum runs in Sri Lanka, he said. I think they need to score, especially in the T20. I don’t think they are doing anything wrong in the IPL. Now Rohit and KL Rahul are ahead of them. Rahul had an average series against England, otherwise his form in white ball cricket is exceptional.
