South Korea’s leading automaker Hyundai today inaugurated its new headquarters in Gurugram. In this case, the company has also showcased some of the models available in the global market, including the Ionic 5 electric car. It is a hydrogen fuel cell SUV and in fact requires the support and customer demand of the government to bring such vehicles into the country.
The Ionic 5 is quite popular in the global market and is seen as a rival to Tesla’s famous electric car Model 3. The company offers a 72.6 kW capacity battery pack and the car offers a driving range of up to 480 km on a single charge.
The new Hyundai Ionic 5 features a 12-inch touchscreen system and a gear selector behind the steering wheel. Charging ports are provided on both sides of this electric car so it can be easily charged. In this crossover model, the company offers 20-inch alloy wheels with pop-up door handles, raked front windshield, black roof, and slick LED headlamps. As an electric vehicle, it is being offered a larger size wheel. The company will launch it in different trims and its top speed will be 185 km.
This car is very powerful:
In this crossover, the company is offering a 58 kWh battery and a single motor. It produces 58 168 hp and 350 Nm of torque. This electric car is capable of accelerating from 0 to 100 km / h in just 8.5 seconds. All-wheel drive model produces 232 hp and 605 Nm of torque, accelerating from 0 to 100 km / h in 6.1 seconds.
To the extent that this car will be launched in the Indian market, it is currently studying the possibilities. SS Kim, MD and CEO of Hyundai Motor India Limited, says, “Electric mobility is very high in terms of bikes and two-wheelers. As for the four-wheeler segment, we are studying this and these will depend on customer demands and the support provided by the government. “
Currently, there are very limited options in the Electric Passenger Vehicle segment in the Indian market. However, in the last few years, legendary players have definitely introduced some of their models in this category. Kona from Hyundai, MZs from MG Motor, Tata Nexon Electric. But it is hard to say anything about the release of Ionic 5 in India right now.
