India skipper Virat Kohli has climbed to fourth place in the latest ICC Test batting chart released on Wednesday. At the same time, Australian batsman Steve Smith has taken the top spot again. Kohli, who leads India in the final of the World Test Championship against New Zealand in Southampton on Friday, has 814 points. Other Indians in the top 10 include Kohli, wicketkeeper-batsman Rishabh Pant (747 points) and star opener Rohit Sharma (747 points) retaining their joint sixth place.

Smith took the top spot after Boxing Day Test last year, replacing New Zealand captain Kane Williamson, who will advance to the World Test Championship final. Williamson missed the second Test against England due to injury, losing five rating points from Smith and topping the list of batsmen. Smith has 891 rating points. This means that Smith has topped 167 Tests in total, followed by Gary Sobers (189 matches) and Viv Richards (179 points).

India’s senior spinner Ravichandran Ashwin (850 points) and Australian pacer Pat Cummins (908 points) are in the Test bowlers’ rankings. The Indian is one of the top 10 bowlers. West Indies’ Jason Holder tops the Test all-rounder rankings with 412 rating points. India’s Ravindra Jadeja (386 points) and Ashwin (353 points) are second and fourth respectively. New Zealand pacer Matt Henry reached career-best 307 points and 64th place, while Ejaz Patel also scored a career-high 323 points. Devon Conway continued his fine form, putting him at joint 61st. This ranking update also includes the first Test between South Africa and the West Indies. Quinton de Kock rose to joint 12th position with Cheteshwar Pujara.
