If you have an account with SBI, link to Pan-Aadhaar before September 30th or else …

State Bank of India (SBI), India’s largest state-owned bank, has warned its account holders to link their PAN-Aadhaar card by September 30. If the account holders fail to link their PAN with Aadhaar, they will face many problems, the bank said.

“We advise our customers to avoid any inconvenience and to link PAN with Aadhaar and continue to enjoy a seamless banking service,” SBI tweeted.

The tweet said it was mandatory to link the PAN with Aadhaar. If the PAN and Aadhaar are not linked, the PAN will become inactive and cannot be referenced to perform specific transactions. Deadline to link PAN with Aadhaar is September 30, 2021.

In terms of Section 139A of the Income Tax Act, 1961, every person who is eligible for PAN sanction and Aadhaar number is required to report his Aadhaar number to the Income Tax Department. Deadline extended until September 30th.
