Country’s largest car maker Maruti Suzuki India reported a 50 per cent increase in sales in July at 1,62,462 units. The company had sold 1,08,064 units in the same month last year.
In the domestic market, the company’s sales increased by 39 per cent to 1,01,307 units compared to 1,41,238 units in the same month a year ago. Sales of the company’s mini cars – Alto and WagonR – reached 19,685 units in July 2020 compared to 17,258 units.
In the compact segment, Swift, Celerio, Ignis, Baleno and Dzire sold 70,268 units compared to 51,529 units a year ago. During the month, the company sold 1,450 units of the mid-sized sedan Siaz. A year ago, the number was 1,303 units. The company’s utility vehicles, Vitara Brezza, S-Cross and Ertiga, sold 32,272 units in the same month a year ago, 19,177 units. Exports of the company rose to 21,224 units in July from 6,757 units in the same month a year ago.
