The match was supposed to be played on Tuesday, but it was postponed by one day as spin all-rounder Krunal Pandya was corona positive. None of the other players who came in contact with him could find a place in the match, thus giving Padekal the chance to make his T20 international debut. In this game Padikkal played short but useful innings. He scored 29 off 23 balls with the help of four and one sixes. His innings ended with Hasaranga.
