China has been chilly due to the inauguration of ‘Atal Tunnel’, the world’s largest highway tunnel in Himachal Pradesh by Prime Minister Narendra Modi last week. The Chinese defense expert has stated in the article that India should avoid such provocations and the People’s Liberation Army (PLA) will render the tunnel useless if needed. However, China has also believed that India will get help from the Atal Tunnel on the military front.
Song Zhongping wrote in the Global Times, “As the area is plateaued and sparsely populated, such a route is built primarily for military purposes. With the introduction of Atal Tunnel, the Indian Army will be deployed at the border as soon as possible. Apart from this, supplies for the army can also be met through this tunnel. It is true that the tunnel will reduce the distance from other parts of India to Leh. ”
Tunnel will be helpful for Indian soldiers
The Global Times article further said, “This tunnel is going to be very helpful for Indian soldiers and their supplies.” But, in times of war the tunnel will be of no use. Especially if there is a military war. The People’s Liberation Army of China (PLA) will make this tunnel useless. “Through the article, China has given a shout, saying that India should avoid provocation.” The article said, “It is better for China and India to be at peace with each other.” India should restrain itself and avoid provocations because there is no way that can increase India’s combat capability. After all, there is a huge difference in the effectiveness of war between China and India. India is far from reaching the level of China. ”

India is building infrastructure on the border
India has been steadily building infrastructure on border areas for some time. China has also given its opinion on this. The Global Times wrote that India is pushing for the construction of roads, bridges and other infrastructure along the China-India border. The 255-km-long Darbuk-Shyok-Daulat Beg Oldi (DSDBO) road was completed last year after nearly two decades. The road makes its way through the mountain to the Ladakh region. In addition to these roads, the Indian government has identified 73 strategic roads along the Sino-India border, which they will continue to build in the coming winter months.
Tunnel will connect Manali with Lahaul Spiti
Let us tell you that Atal Tunnel was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi last week. The tunnel will connect Manali in Himachal Pradesh with Lahaul Spiti and Leh-Ladakh. The South Portal of Atal Tunnel is located at a height of about 3060 meters, 25 kilometers from Manali. The northern end of the tunnel is located at a height of 3071 meters in the Teling village of Sisu in the Lahaul Valley. With the construction of the nine-kilometer long Atal tunnel, 46 kilometers short of reaching the border in Leh-Ladakh, this tunnel will provide strategic strength to the Indian Army. The army will take less time to reach the border and it will also be easier to transport military goods during the snowfall.
