India vs England: Virat Kohli is expensive, Rohit Sharma is out for the first T20, fans are trolling

Team India lost to England by 8 wickets in the first T20 match played at Ahmedabad’s Narendra Modi Cricket Stadium. KL Rahul and Shikhar Dhawan decided to field with the opening pair while captain Virat Kohli rested for Rohit Sharma in the first match. Virat’s decision proved wrong, Dhawan (4) and Rahul (1) were disappointed. On the flop of the two, Kohli was hit hard by fans on Twitter and suggested he renounce the T20 leadership.

Speaking at a press conference on the eve of the match, the Indian captain said Rohit and KL Rahul will open the first T20 and Dhawan will play as the third opener if they are not. However, Kohli surprised everyone during the toss and said that Rohit will be rested in the opening match and Rahul and Dhawan will start the innings. Virat himself could not do anything special with the bat in the first match and returned to the pavilion without opening an account of Adil Rashid’s ball after facing 5 balls. Fans then trotted Virat furiously and called him a bad hero.

England swept India in all three divisions of the game in the first T20. Team India’s batsmen who batted first were unable to withstand the English bowlers and were able to score only 124 runs in 20 overs. At the same time, bowlers like Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Yuzvendra Chahal failed to control the pace and England set a target of 125 runs for the loss of two wickets in 15.3 overs. England’s Jason Roy scored 49, while bowler Joffra Archer sent three Indian batsmen to the pavilion for 23. England lead 1-0 in a five-match series.
