IPL 2021: Shivam Dubey ready to bat for Rajasthan Royals

Rajasthan Royals newcomer Shivam Dubey said he was ready to bat on any orders and wanted to take ‘extra advice’ from cricket director Kumar Sangakkara to improve batting. Dubey, who played one-day and nine T20s for India, was paid Rs 40 crore by the Royals at the IPL auction.

He told PTI, “I have played many orders and I have no problem playing any order. I have what the team wants from me. If my need is in the order, I will be down there. If there is a lower order, I can also play the finisher role.” He said his batting will remain the focus and he can bowl some overs if needed.

Talking to former wicketkeeper Parthiv Patel, Rishabh Pant does not need to be Mahendra Singh Dhoni

Dubey said Sangakkara played a lot of cricket and he kept track of my performance. He tells me what else I need to do to improve my game. I’ll try to get some extra tips from them for batting. He said the team was fully focused on winning the award. I play for any team, my goal is to win the title. As a professional, you know what you want, what the team gives you, what your role is and what the coaches give you. I am grateful to the Rajasthan Royals who trusted me.
