India’s star fast bowler Jaspreet Bumrah and India’s women’s cricket team opener Smriti Mandhana received the first dose of the Kovid-19 vaccine on Tuesday. The list also includes veteran wicketkeeper batsman Dinesh Karthik. All three have posted their pictures on social media accounts, urging people to vaccinate.

At the same time, Mandana, who played in the home series against South Africa in March, posted a picture on his Instagram, writing, “Please be safe and get the vaccine.”

Bumrah, who is part of the Indian Test squad for the World Test Championship final against New Zealand next month, will tour England. Earlier on May 6, opener Shikhar Dhawan performed the first dose of the corona vaccine. After that, Virat Kohli, Cheteshwar Pujara, Ajinkya Rahane, Umesh Yadav and Ishant Sharma have also been vaccinated. The team’s head coach, Ravi Shastri, got the vaccine in March.
