The explosive innings of opener Soumya Sarkar and all-rounder Shameem Hossain won the three-match series 2-1 by defeating Zimbabwe by five wickets in the third and final T-20 match. Zimbabwe elected to bat after winning the toss, scoring 193 runs for the loss of five wickets in their allotted 20 overs. In reply, Bangladesh scored 194 runs with four balls to spare, winning both the match and the series.

All the batsmen from the Bangladesh team, except Mohammad Naeem, batted well, with Soumya Sarkar and Shameem Hossain playing the winning innings. Soumya scored 68 off 49 balls with nine fours and a six, while Shameem eventually scored a magnificent 31 off 15 balls in which he hit six boundaries. In addition, Shakib Hal Asan scored 25 runs off 13 balls with one four and two sixes.

Afif Hosain also scored 14 runs off five balls with two sixes. Shakib and Soumya performed all-round. Shakib took one for 24 in four overs, and Souma took two for 19 in three overs, earning him the Player of the Match and the Player of the Match for his outstanding performance of bat and ball throughout the series.
