England star fast bowler Joffra Archer is out for the upcoming Test series against New Zealand. This was confirmed by the England and Wales Cricket Board on Sunday. Archer complained of pain in the right elbow. Archer, playing his first competitive match for Sussex against Kent, threw only 5 overs in the second innings.
Another setback for the 26-year-old Archer. He was dropped from the series due to an arm and elbow injury in the T20 series against India. According to the Cricbuzz report, Joffra Archer will not be able to play a two-Test series against New Zealand. He did not play in the suspended Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021 due to injury. Archer was eliminated from the early stages of the County Championship.

Archer, playing his first competitive match for Sussex, returned from injury, taking two for 29 in the first innings. Now the medical teams from England and Sussex will be guided, the ECB press release said. The medical consultant sees an elbow injury at the end of the week and then a further process is initiated. Notably, England will play New Zealand in a two-Test series starting June 2. The team is expected to be announced Tuesday for the series.
