This is the first ever KAS test. The Kerala Public Service Commission conducted the examination on February 22.

The exam was announced in December with a total of 4.01 lakh candidates registered. The test, which took place in two sessions in the morning and afternoon, took place at more than 1,500 testing centers across the state.

Candidates who qualify for this examination will be shortlisted to attend the main examination. The Kerala PSC had scheduled the main exam in July but was later postponed due to delays in announcing the preliminary results.

The Kerala PSC said in an earlier announcement that the final examination of KAS will be based on the prescribed curriculum. The test is descriptive in nature and will be held in two days. The main questions will be given to the candidates in English. Answers can be written in English or Malayalam. A total of 300 marks are coming up for the main exam. The interview round consists of a total of 50 points.

The final merit list is based on the candidate’s score in the main exam and interview. The marks obtained in the preliminary examination will not be considered for ranking.
