The International Cricket Council (ICC) has decided to provide assistance to financially distressed members during the corona epidemic. Assistance funds will be available for the next three years for members facing difficulties in organizing international cricket in a bio-bubble environment during the corona epidemic. An ICC official said in a statement on Friday that “many cricket boards are currently struggling with lack of funds to organize international cricket and are unable to host international cricket as needed.”

That said, chartered flights, booking of fully bio-bubble safe hotels and many other additional costs are being borne by the small cricket board. Because of this, they say they should be paid more. Otherwise they cannot organize, so there are efforts to help them pursue international cricket. The amount of aid funding has not been discussed as of now, but it is understood that no board will issue 50 percent of the aid amount from the ICC.

On the other hand, before receiving the aid amount, the ICC must clearly state what this amount requires. The decision was taken by the ICC in the wake of concerns over the cancellation of several bilateral series last year. It is noteworthy that the T20 World Cup was postponed last year, originally scheduled for October-November 2020 in Australia, although the T20 World Cup 2021 was to be held in India in October-November.
