West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Friday released a list of all 291 candidates for the Trinamool Congress. Mamata Banerjee has fielded 50 women contesting the slogan ‘Bengal wants her daughter’ and has also played bets on 42 Muslim and 79 Dalit candidates. In addition, 17 Scheduled Tribe candidates were given tickets.
Mamata Banerjee released a list of candidates for 291 of the 294 seats in the assembly. Trinamool Congress allies will contest the remaining three seats in Darjeeling. Mamata Banerjee will contest from Nandigram Assembly seat Shobhandeb Chattopadhyay has announced that he will contest from his current position in Bhawanipur. Mamata Banerjee said, “I have given tickets to great people from the arts, sports, media and culture.” At the same time, the Trinamool Congress’s 23-24 sitting lawmakers have not been fielded this time due to age and other factors. Mamata Banerjee said she would create a legislative council to accommodate senior and experienced leaders after coming to power.
