BJP president Jagat Prakash Nadda arrived in West Bengal on Saturday to launch the party’s “handful of rice” collection campaign to target the farmers amid protests against the Center’s three agrarian laws at various borders in the capital. Addressing a rally in Bardhaman, he said, “The warmth you have welcomed me and the warmth you have come to in such large numbers, you have decided that Mamata is sure to go and the BJP is sure to come.

JP Nadda said the people of Bengal had decided that Mamata would go and that the BJP was sure to come.

During his one day visit, he will interact with the farmers of the village. They also have lunch at the farmer’s family home. Nadda’s first visit to Bengal since his convoy was attacked on 10 December while visiting Diamond Harbor from Kolkata.

Nadda arrived at Andal Airport at around 11.45 am and boarded a helicopter from there to reach the village of Jagadanapura in East Bardhaman district. After praying at the famous Sri Radha Gobind Temple here, he will address the village’s “peasant security village”. The party aims to organize 40,000 village meetings across West Bengal before the state assembly elections.

Extensive security arrangements have been made in keeping with his visit to Bengal to prevent any unpleasant incident from occurring.

In response to the allegations leveled by the opposition parties against the central government for being anti-peasant, they launch a “handful of paddy collection” campaign in Jagadanapura village. He will spend the day with the farmers of Bardhaman district and will inform them of the benefits of the new agricultural laws.

Nadda Burdwan will be performing a road show from the clock tower to the Lord Curzon Gate. According to the schedule, Nadda will address a press conference in Bardhaman and discuss the strategy of the assembly elections at a meeting with key party members.

It is learned that the West Bengal assembly elections will be held in the middle of this year. The party is desperately trying to overthrow the ruling Trinamool Congress government. The BJP’s excitement has further increased after winning 18 seats in the Lok Sabha elections. Union Home Minister Amit Shah also visits the state every month to promote the state’s election campaign.
