In this segment, the company already sells Scorpio, which is quite popular in urban and rural areas. The new SUV is expected to be offered between the current model XUV300 and the XUV500. Its length is about 4.3 meters, which is similar to that of Creta and Celtos. Although initially rumored that the company’s upcoming SUV will be based on Ford’s VX-722 platform, the joint ventures of the two companies are now closed, so the platform cannot be used.
The new Mahindra XUV400 is expected to be based on the company’s X100 platform, based on the company’s current model XUV300. These platforms are best suited to different body types and different engine options. It can offer this SUV with 5-seater and 7-seater options.

The 1.5 liter capacity G15 turbocharged petrol engine can be used in this SUV. It was introduced during the previous Auto Expo. It produces 163bhp and 280Nm of torque. At the same time, the 1.5-liter turbocharged diesel engine can be offered in the diesel version, as is the case with the Marazzo and XUV300s. This engine produces 120bhp and 300Nm of torque power.
