Navratri 2021: Fasting does not mean fasting, know the way to fast by experts

We have heard of many people who struggle hard in childhood. Some people drink fruit only once a day, while others do not drink water. But we now know that fasting is not hatha yoga or fasting. These are the major changes made in the diet for health. You can understand it by detoxifying yourself in the changing world. Therefore it is very important that you know the proper way to fast the night.

To find out what is the right way to fast on Navratri, we spoke with Delhi’s renowned food expert Seema Singh. Seema Singh Fortis Hospital Vasant Kunj is Chief Clinical Nutritionist. Tell us what they have to say about this.

1 not hungry, do not eat much

During fasting, no one should follow the law of eating once a day or eating for an entire day. This can cause you problems like nausea, vomiting and acidity. During Navratri, everyone should follow the principle of not fasting or eating a full meal.

Take care of 2 doses

Instead of starving yourself, eat small amounts of food during the day. However, keep your diet low. Hydrate yourself to avoid dehydration. Include fresh lemon juice, coconut water and fresh fruit juices in your diet to maintain your body’s hydration level. It reduces appetite.

Add 3 superfoods

Chawlai or Rajgira is a magical thing you should eat. It is rich in protein. Sago and water chestnut flour is best to use instead of whole grains, but avoid eating too much fried things.

To avoid any kind of weakness, there should be sufficient nutrition in the Navratri diet. It is a good idea to start the day with fruits and berries.

Choose from 4 sweet health options

Sweets are a good choice for maintaining energy levels. Use honey and jaggery instead of refined sugar. This increases the amount of nutrients in sweets and you can also get minerals and vitamins.

5 Avoid digestive problems

Be sure to use plenty of salad and fresh vegetables in your diet to avoid constipation. Sweet potatoes, pumpkins, gourds, papaya, banana, cucumber and tomato are good choices.

Gut health

Use coriander and mint chutney to improve the taste of the food. Avoid heavy and fried snacks and snacks. Some healthy alternatives to snacks are roasted maqana and roasted nuts.

6 fruits should be included in the diet

If you eat something regularly every 3 hours and you have plenty of fluids, fruits, vegetables and nuts in your diet, you can maintain your energy levels during this festive period, even during fasting.

7 Nine Days Detox

This nine-day fast can also be used to remove detox days, i.e. waste from the body, for which you should avoid fried goods and whole grains. Use plenty of fruits and vegetables with dry fruits in your diet.
