NEET, JEE not postponing main 2020 exam – Supreme Court dismisses request for postponement of September exams

The National Eligibility and Entrance Test, NEET 2020 and JEE Main 2020, scheduled for September, will not be postponed, the Supreme Court said. The students had applied in court, seeking to postpone the exam dates again until they return to normal. However, the court dismissed the appeal, saying the tests would be conducted and not postponed.

NEET, JEE Main 2020 SC Hearing: Key Highlights

The Supreme Court has finally ruled that the NEET, JEE Main Examination 2020 cannot be overturned. According to the official schedule in September, the test will be conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA).

Advocate Alok Alok Srivastava pointed out that the solution sought is not indefinite. He shared the developments to date and pointed out that various tests like AIBE, ICAI have been postponed. Board exams of CBSE and ICSE and NIOS have also been canceled.

The trial began and Justice Mishra noted that everything could not be closed due to corona. “Life can’t be stopped. We need to move on with all the safety and all. Are you (students) willing to waste a whole year?” He points out that the SC is now open for physical hearing from behind glass panels.

The case was taken up by Justice Arun Mishra, Justice B. R Gawai and Justice Krishna Murari appeared before the bench. Petitions were heard on behalf of and against the case. Examinations are due to begin September 1, 2020.

In related news, the NTA JEE Main 2020 admission is expected to be released on the official website jeemain.nta.nic.in. The admission cards have not yet been released. The admission cards are expected to be released today. However, there is no clarification or further information released by the NTA in this regard.

The petition filed by the NEET and the JEE Main Post 2020 Examination has seen 19 cases of COPID increase in the country and is being sought by the SC. The petition further requested that the examination be postponed until the situation is normal.

A few days after the request for postponement of the entrance examinations, the petitioners appealed to the Supreme Court to order that the medical and engineering entrance examinations be conducted as per the prescribed date. The Gujarat Parents Association has indicated that they have already missed a pretty valuable academic year in their application. Also, constant delay in exams can cause mental stress to students.

Regarding admission tests, the Karnataka High Court recently refused to intervene to delay the COMED-K entrance exam, which is attended by nearly 1 lakh students in Karnataka. The Gujarat CET is scheduled for August 24. Meanwhile, the National Testing Agency, NTA, has not issued the JEE Main 2020 admission card.

The JEE Main 2020 exam is scheduled for September 1st to September 6th. NEET or National Eligibility and Entrance Examination 2020 is scheduled for September 13, 2020. Entries are expected to be issued 15 days before the test date.
